When it comes to cars, Ford and Dodge have a long-standing rivalry. When it comes to muscle cars, both companies have produced some incredibly gorgeous vehicles that make you drool.
2022 Dodge Charger vs 2022 Ford Mustang: Specifications
The fact that both the Charger and the Mustang are rear-wheel drive (RWD) is one of their few shared characteristics, but there are a few other important distinctions.
• Performance
The 2022 Ford Mustang sports a 2.3-liter Turbo Inline-4 engine, whereas the 2022 Dodge Charger sports a 5.7-liter V8 engine.
The Mustang has 310 horsepower and 350 lb-feet of torque, whereas the Charger has 370 horsepower and 395 lb-feet of torque. These numbers are nearly identical, but not quite.
The Dodge Charger has an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the Mustang has a 6-speed manual. Upgrading the Mustang to a 10-speed automatic will set you back an extra $1,595.
• Trims
More trims are offered for the Dodge Challenger than for the Ford Mustang. The Charger is available in the following model levels: R/T RWD, Scat Pack RWD, Police RWD and AWD, GT RWD and AWD, and SXT RWD and AWD.
The EcoBoost Fastback and EcoBoost Premium Fastback are the available Mustang trim levels.
With an MSRP of $27,470, the Ford Mustang is less expensive than the Dodge Charger, which has an MSRP of $36,355, when comparing the two trim levels, the EcoBoost Fastback and the Police RWD.
Although neither of these vehicles has very high fuel efficiency, most people don’t actually buy muscle cars for their fuel economy anyhow. Nonetheless, the Ford Mustang has a little superior combined fuel economy of 29 mpg as opposed to the Dodge Charger’s 19 mpg.
Features come on the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger
Regarding features, the two automobiles have many of the same standard equipment; however, some are either completely unavailable or only available as options.
Available Feature
Bluetooth connectivity, smart device integration, WiFihotspot, AUX audio input, MP3 player, cloth bucket seats, leather steering wheel, cruise control, keyless entry and start, and telematics are some of the most noteworthy standard features on the Ford Mustang.
Keyless entry and start, remote trunk release, power driver seat, dual zone air conditioning, leather steering wheel, cloth bucket seats, Bluetooth connectivity, integration with smart devices, AUX audio input, and MP3 player are all features of the Dodge Charger.
Unavailable Features
Because both cars lack items that are neither standard nor optional, this is where the contrasts between them can be really seen.
The following features are completely unavailable on the Dodge Charger: telematics, WiFi hotspot, adaptive cruise control, and a navigation system.
Features such as multi-zone air conditioning, power seats for both the driver and passenger, and remote trunk release are not available for the Ford Mustang.
